Go to "Control Panel" > "Network & File Services" > "FTP" to Configure the FTP server.
FTP Service
When you enable the FTP service, you can specify the port number and the maximum number of users that are allowed to connect to the NAS past FTP at the same time. To utilise the FTP service of the NAS, enable this function. Open a browser and enter ftp://NAS IP:Port. Enter the username and the password to login the FTP service.
| • | Protocol Type: Select to employ standard FTP connexion or SSL/TLS encrypted FTP. Select the correct protocol blazon in your client FTP software to ensure successful connection. Multiple selections can be selected. |
| • | Port number: Specify the port number of the FTP service. |
| • | Unicode Support: Toggles Unicode support. The default setting is No. If your FTP client does not support Unicode, it is recommended to disable this option and select the specified linguistic communication in "Control Panel" > "Full general Settings" > "Codepage" so that the file and folder names tin can be correctly displayed. If your FTP client supports Unicode, enable this option for both your client and NAS. |
| • | Enable Anonymous: Enable this selection to allow anonymous admission to the NAS past FTP. Anonymous users can connect to files and folders which are open for public access. If this option is disabled, users must enter an authorized username and password to connect to the NAS. |
| • | Connection: Enter the maximum number of allowed FTP connections for the NAS and a single account and check "Enable FTP transfer limitation" to specify the maximum upload and download rates. |
| • | Online Users: Bank check details of the current FTP connections, including the type of connection, login engagement, login fourth dimension, user business relationship, source IP, and computer name. |
Annotation: The maximum number of FTP connections varies based on the size of RAM installed on the NAS:
| • | If the NAS memory =< 1 GB, the maximum is 256. |
| • | If the NAS memory = 2 GB, the maximum is 512. |
| • | If the NAS retention >= 3 GB, the maximum is 1024. |
Advanced
| • | Passive FTP Port Range: You can use the default port range (55536-56559) or specify a port range larger than 1023. When using this function, brand sure you have opened the ports on your router or firewall. |
| • | Reply with external IP address for passive FTP connection asking: Enable this function when a passive FTP connectedness is in apply, the FTP server (NAS) is behind a router, and a remote computer cannot connect to the FTP server over the WAN. When this is enabled, the NAS replies with the specified IP accost or automatically detects an external IP address then that the remote computer is able to connect to the FTP server. |
| • | Set up root directory: Later on enabling this office and selecting a root directory, only that directory will be visible to FTP users. Otherwise, all of the shared folders will be visible. |
